As a student in California, in 2011, Tough’s founder, James, struggled to afford gear to surf and explore. Fed up with expensive products, James knew there was a better way. He discovered that he could provide customers with quality gear at half the cost by cutting out retail middlemen, advertising, and pro sponsorships.

Today, Tough Outdoors helps make the outdoors accessible to all by giving you the gear you need, while staying affordable.
